ModCloth Beachwear

Wednesday, 26 March 2014
Gone were the days where one-piece swimsuits were only for your granny. Nowadays, the modern twist seen on the the runways of Herve Leger, Vivienne Westwood, and Chanel (to name a few) transformed the once frumpy swimsuit into the stylish beachwear of choice.

Polka dot swimsuits such as this one gives the look a retro feel. Accessorise with a straw hat and large beach bag during the day. Switch the swimsuit for a maxi dress when the sun sets for the ultimate glam yet comfortable outfit.
Top: Polka dot swimwear; $89.99, Chic hat; $16.99, Beaches bag; $69.99, Maxi dress; $44.99, Sunglasses; $11.99, Sandals; $34.99 all from ModCloth

Spring Outfits

Saturday, 1 March 2014
The best season has to be Spring. At least it's my favourite season of the year. Pleasantly warm during the day yet cool at night. Outfit choices are also never ending. I love light layers of clothing.
Casual blazers over loose T-shirts paired with skinny jeans or jeggings. Light colours, sheer tops worn in the spring sun just screams love!

Urgh! I just can't wait until I can actually start wearing my spring outfits. I'll just continue creating these until that day on the photos for the outfit details.

Valentine's Day for All

Sunday, 9 February 2014
If Valentine's day actually means something to you then one of the things you may be thinking of is 'what should I wear'?! You don't have to wear pink and reds if it's really not your style. You could opt for flowing fabrics, or just add some curls to your hair instead.

Even if, like me, Valentine's Day will just be another day for you. No need to be sad girl! It's not just a day for couples, it's a day for love. Now, who's to say that love has to be with a partner? Us fashionistas are all about the love...for fashion (sorry for the cheesiness).

I'll be spending my Valentine's day frantically running around at London Fashion Week. If you're not out and about then why not check out the live video streams of the shows on the London Fashion Week website. You still get all the juicy fashion minus the cold, and possibly wet weather!

Back to the outfits, I've come across some gorgeous styles that are totally suitable for getting in the mood for Valentine's Day for everyone.

Loving this combination of a loose blouse and flowing maxi skirt. The colours compliment each other perfectly without looking too 'sickly' girly. Plus, the colours are on-trend for Spring/Summer.

A cute outfit for those of you who lives in a country where you can actually get away with some skin on show!

A stomach-giving outfit. A loose top and leggings gives you an excuse to indulge on the deserts with the girls!

No matter what you're doing on Valentine's day, just don't wear this...

...a stunning photo that I had to share, but it's a little creepy in real life!

Chinese New Year: Red alert

Saturday, 1 February 2014
Happy New Year! Whether you're Chinese or not, I hope you gallop your way to success in the year of the horse!

Back to fashion, because girrrl, you always have to be stylish! I had a lot of people ask me about Chinese new year traditions. There are so many I can't follow all of them, but fashion-wise I always wear red. Lets face it, that's an easy thing to follow. From underwear to accessories, clothes to make-up, red is a wearable colour for everyone.

I love a fire red lipstick. It doesn't just look pretty for everyday occasions, apparently wearing red lipstick actually makes you look more professional when in the boardroom. No matter how smart you dress, there's something about a slick of red lippy that says 'I mean business'.

I bought this lipstick years ago, but since I have about a thousand lipsticks (a metaphor obviously), I'm still working my way through this!

If you're in a hot country, you can get away with a floral red summer dress. Otherwise, us pasty skin people can opt for cosy red knits and faux fur coats. Anyhow, where ever you are in the world have a smashing time!

Gorgeous braids

Saturday, 25 January 2014
I've always loved plaits. As a child my mum use to always plait my hair in fish tails. I never knew that there were other ways to do it! The most simple three piece braid, and the rope braid were only introduced to me when I saw other girls at my school doing them…if only there was Youtube back then!

Anyhow, I still stick to my childhood favourite fish tail braid whenever I need to jazz up my hair. Instantly I've added some romantic feel to my look and it makes me feel elegant. Plus, it really does add some texture to flat hair. I always braid one side of my hair then pin it back into a low bun when I'm on duty with the ambulance. So, it doesn't matter what the occasion is, there's always a type of braid that will suit you.

I ive in braids in the Summer as my super thick hair will not stay up in a high bun. But in the Winter I just do side braids and keep the hair down to use as a scarf! Which braids are your go-to style?
