Every fashion designer wants their show to be perfect, flawless. A lot of time and effort is put into the collection, that's an obvious one, but the show itself requires more time and effort. You want to 'wow' the crowds, the Viktor and Rolf fashion show did just that to me! The usual 'model walking down the catwalk wearing their collection' is not good enough in the V&R house, no no!
The show kicked off with top model Kristen Mcmenamy slowly coming down the catwalk in what looked like a giant fur-ball! But in fact, she's actually a real-life mannequin...wearing the whole collection on her! Each layer of clothing is taken off (by the designers themselves) then put on another model, who then walks down the catwalk. After Kirsten is stripped down to a nude bodysuit, the clothes are then taken off the other models and back onto Kirsten! Only Viktor and Rolf can come up with such an idea! The guys used the same concept they used more than ten years ago on their Babushka collection, at the time Maggie Rizer was their "mannequin".
What the designers wanted to show this time was, the collection is both wearable and extreme at the same time...sure is!

I haven't got much photos, but head over to their site for the video of the show! Once through to the homepage, click on 'fashion' for the video. I hope you'll love the concept as much as me!
