Supermodels for Super Brands

Thursday, 3 February 2011
A jawline sharp enough to cut glass, Louis Vuitton welcomes their first Asian male supermodel to front their spring/summer 2011 ad campaign. Godfrey Gao, at 6ft 4inches, the Canadian/Taiwanese model sure is super tall. Gao is also the world's first Asian male supermodel.

We're seeing a lot more Oriental supermodels being born over the past few years. Liu Wen, a model who made Jean Paul Gaultier book her immediately after seeing her for the first time. The Twenty two year old supermodel has been in Vogue (worldwide), she's walked the runway for countless designers including Chanel, Roberto Cavalli, Dolce and Gabbana. To top it off, she's also the face of Estée Lauder.

Shu Pei, the twenty one year old supermodel who has graced the catwalks for Chanel, Louis Vitton, Miu Miu, Valentino the list goes on and on. She's the second Asian model to be signed with Maybelline cosmetics.

The Givenchy Haute Couture spring/summer 2011 presentation sure was a statement. Designer Riccardo Tisci used Oriental models for his entire presentation! Wow!
